Appropriations
Appropriations projects direct federal funds to local communities to meet their needs, invest in the local economies, and put Oregonians to work. Each year, requests are submitted to members of Congress for consideration as part of the annual federal spending bills. As part of Senate-wide efforts to make the process more transparent, all offices are required to post on-line the projects submitted by each Senator.
This year, Senator Merkley and Senator Wyden took the additional step of posting all requests received by their offices so that Oregonians could examine and comment on the projects before they were submitted to the Appropriations Committee.

Requests Received by the Offices of Senators Merkley and Wyden
The appropriation requests on these pages were received by the offices of Senator Merkley and Senator Wyden. These requests have not been vetted or approved by the Senate offices, and their inclusion in this list does not indicate any judgment about the projects' value, appropriateness, or likelihood of receiving funding. Every funding request has been included, and project summaries have been draw verbatim from applicants' proposals. Not all of the requests received by both Senators will be submitted for funding consideration to the Senate Appropriations Committee, and that Committee will then select a limited number of projects to fund from each state.
