PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley is hosting a rally against President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to ban transgender people from serving in the military.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. at Terry Schrunk Plaza in southwest Portland.
Merkley is currently working with other senators on an amendment to the defense authorization bill that would prevent the ban from going into effect.
Merkley said they plan to introduce the bill after the August recess.
