What gay marriage advocate plans to say to Kim Davis

Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage, may run into Kim Davis at President Obama’s final State of the Union address. And if he does, Obergefell has a message to deliver.

Obergefell, invited to sit in First Lady Michelle Obama’s box in the House gallery, says that he would tell Davis that refusing to certify same-sex marriage licenses in her role as a Rowan County clerk in Kentucky “isn’t right, it isn’t fair and isn’t what America is about.”

Watch the video about to hear Obergefell describe when he got the news that he would sit with the first lady, how legal stardom has changed his life and where he goes from here.
