Washington, DC – Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley issued the following statement to recognize Armed Forces Day:
“The members of our armed forces deserve our deepest thanks. They volunteer to serve our country in dangerous and difficult circumstances far from home. Today is a day to appreciate the sacrifice and courage of these patriots.
“Whether serving at home or aboard, our men and women in uniform deserve not only thanks, but also the best treatment from our federal government. I encourage all service members and their families to contact my Oregon or Washington, D.C. offices if there is anything that I or my staff can do to help.”
