Portland Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley announced today that his Salem and Bend offices are now open for business. Katie Gauthier in Salem will be his field representative for Lincoln, Marion, Polk, Tillamook and Yamhill counties.Jonathan Manton in Bend will be his field representative for Crook, Deschutes, Gilliam, Hood River, Jefferson, Sherman, Wasco and Wheeler counties.

Gauthier has worked as Policy and Communications Director for Oregonians for Health Security and as the Outreach Director for the Oregon House Democratic Office. Gauthier, a native Oregonian and resident of Salem for the last 10 years, has a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the University of Oregon and a BS from Eastern Oregon University.Gauthier will be based in the senator’s Salem office. Manton has worked as Campaign Manager and Senior Legislative Aide for Oregon State Senator Floyd Prozanski (D-Douglas and Lane Counties). He also served as the Central Oregon Field Organizer for President Barack Obama’s campaign. Manton is a 2003 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, where he obtained a certificate in Environment and Natural Resources Law.
