SALEM, Ore. — The American rescue plan signed by President Joe Biden will help millions receive COVID-19 relief.
Senator Jeff Merkley said the plan is another step in the right direction as cases begin to drop in Oregon and vaccination quantities continue to increase.
“After a year in which everything suddenly came to a halt, we finally are seeing a light at the end of this long dark COVID-19 tunnel,” Merkley said.
He also said this relief package is a great example of what happens when regular citizens are made the priority.
There are plenty of financial incentives included in the bill. It aids small businesses, extends unemployment benefits, and provides stimulus checks among other things.
