Proyecto de ley para limpiar la cuenca del río Columbia es aprobado por el Senado de EE. UU.

A bill to clean up the Columbia River basin overwhelmingly passed the Senate Thursday and now moves on to the House.

The Columbia Basin Restoration Act, sponsored by Sen. Jeff Merkley and Rep. Earl Blumenauer, sets up a grant program to get farmers, tribes and government entities to reduce their use of toxins that can make it into the river.

Right now, the Columbia River is one of just two major U.S. waterways that’s received zero funding for toxic cleanup.
