A NOTE FROM JEFF
Oregon is the most spectacular place. Every one of our 36 counties has exciting and rewarding places to explore. In 2024, hundreds of people participated in the first Oregon Treasures Quest Challenge. I hope this book, now in its second year, will help you find and enjoy sites throughout the state.
And should you choose to accept it, we offer you the 2025 Oregon Treasures Quest Challenge.
Visit at least 10 different counties between January 1, 2025 and November 1, 2025 to participate in the Oregon Treasures Quest Challenge. To qualify for this challenge, you must visit sites that are listed in the main descriptions or the “You May Also Want to Explore…” section of this book. Document your visits by sending us selfies with the sites in the background, and if you reach Oregon Ranger status, you will win an invitation to the 2025 Oregon Treasures Quest Party, to be held near the end of the year, probably mid-November.
To submit your selfies, send the picture along with your name, the date of the picture, and the name of the location to: OregonTreasuresQuest@Merkley.senate.gov.
For entries to be eligible, they must contain all of this information.
It is a great honor to represent the people of Oregon in the U.S. Senate. I hope you will enjoy visiting every county of the state as much as I have.

Please Note: The Oregon Treasures Quest book is not a comprehensive list of all the wonderful sites to visit in the state. The book doesn’t include either annual events staged by communities or private attractions. For additional opportunities, please consult city and county tourist bureaus and TravelOregon.com, a comprehensive website presented by our state tourist bureau. Travel Oregon also maintains a calendar of Oregon events you may wish to check out when planning your Quest visits.
Many of these treasures are located in the natural world, and may be subject to damage from natural disasters, seasonal closures, and other accessibility challenges. I encourage you to visit the state and local government websites linked throughout this book for more information on ADA accessibility.
