It’s important to Jeff that Oregon veterans always have access to the educational opportunities, health care services and jobs assistance they deserve. VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT
Jeff’s office is teamed up with the Library of Congress American Folklife Center’s Veterans History Project (VHP) to help collect the unique, firsthand stories—and original memoirs, letters, and photos—of Oregon veterans from all walks of life.
The VHP was created by Congress in 2000 to collect and preserve the first-person narratives from United States military veterans from World War I through the present so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of military service.
If you’re a veteran in Oregon interested in telling your story, or want to know more about how you can volunteer for this special project, check out Jeff’s VHP page for more information on how to participate.
ADVANCING VETERAN PRIORITIES IN CONGRESS
Jeff believes the United States must follow through on our commitment to take care of our nation’s veterans, ensuring they receive the care and assistance that they need and deserve. He supports full funding, including advance appropriations, for the VA, as well as other efforts to make sure veterans receive the health care, housing, and support that they have earned. While Congress has made progress in the last few years, Jeff knows much more needs to be done to repay the debt our nation owes to our veterans. He will continue fighting to pass much needed reforms that will improve the quality and accessibility of VA assistance, care, and other programs.
