Washington, DC – Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley issued the following statement to recognize Oregon’s Military Families Appreciation Day:
“Military families are the true backbone of our armed services. I can’t thank them enough for their sacrifice and service to our nation. We all need to recognize that when our service members go on deployment, our service members’ families go on deployment as well, with significant emotional and economic challenges.“Today is a day to appreciate the sacrifice of our military families and the support and confidence the families give to our brave men and women deployed far from home.
“I encourage all military families to contact my Oregon or Washington, DC office if there is anything that I or my staff can do to help.”
